Pescara International Buskers Festival
The city comes alive with art, music and magic.
On Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 August 2007, Pescara hosted one of the most vibrant and well-attended events of the summer: the Pescara International Buskers Festival, a celebration of street performance and creativity.
Conceived by Gaetano Lanza and Gianluca Antonelli, the festival was created as the “twin” of the renowned Ferrara Buskers Festival, one of the most respected events of its kind in Europe. To give the city an event that felt truly original and authentic, the artistic direction focused on curating only the most outstanding performances from around the world.
Caricaturists, portrait artists, fire-eaters, acrobats, musicians, comedians, jugglers and mystics filled the streets and squares of the city centre, transforming Pescara into a vast open-air circus where art met the energy of the crowd.
Organised by Agenzia Traccia, active across Italy, and held with the support of the Department of Culture of the Abruzzo Region and the Departments of Tourism and Culture of the City of Pescara, the festival attracted over 30,000 spectators in just two days.
The Pescara International Buskers Festival became the highlight of the summer, an explosion of talent, emotion and freedom that lit up the city with colour, sound and smiles. It offered residents and visitors alike an unforgettable experience.
A celebration of the power of street art to unite cultures and generations, the festival left those who were there with the feeling they had witnessed something truly unique, a genuine tribute to creativity and shared joy.
