Bolognetti Club – Bologna
In the heart of Bologna, Gaetano Lanza created an ambitious and innovative project: the Bolognetti Club, an urban space completely transformed into an open-air club that seamlessly blended culture, entertainment, and social interaction. For two editions, commissioned and supported by the Municipality of Bologna, Lanza conceived and managed the summer season of the area, overseeing every aspect of its design and programming.
The result was a unique format for the city: a truly “living square” that, like never before, regenerated a challenging urban space, turning it into a shared place open to all audiences.
The Bolognetti Club hosted an extraordinary programme: 139 events ranging from live concerts, theatre, cabaret, DJ sets, and open-air cinema to children’s activities, exhibitions, readings, sports, and cultural talks – including a memorable official boxing match with a regulation ring set up in the central arena.
Completing the experience were spaces dedicated to art exhibitions and street performances, alongside a food area with an artisanal pizzeria and an open-view oven, creating an ever-evolving, dynamic environment.
A project of total urban entertainment, capable of merging performance, culture, and conviviality, quickly becoming a true landmark of Bologna’s summer scene. The two editions curated by Gaetano Lanza marked an extraordinary chapter in the city’s cultural life, with events praised for their originality and impact by the local press.
A unique experience, never replicated. Today, the space that once hosted the Bolognetti Club has been repurposed, closing the chapter on one of Bologna’s most vibrant and participatory seasons.
